LAUNCHED
Developed 2018-2019
The project was not launched due to resource constraints.
OBJECTIVE:
Develop a new wireless charger product line to expand the brand into the battery accessories and broader consumer electronics space, while translating existing brand language into a new category.
MODERATING
FOCUS GROUPS
To uncover key pain points, we facilitated internal focus groups focused on people’s phone usage habits and behaviors. The sessions were guided by the following questions:
How often do you need to charge your phone?
How many chargers do you own?
When/where do you usually charge your phone?
How long can you go without using your phone?
How often do you travel with a charger?
We are charging our phones a lot…
We identified all the key locations where we typically charge our phones,
which were mostly stationary settings like our desk, bed and workspaces.
COMPETITIVE LANDSCAPE
Through heuristic analysis, we evaluated existing solutions to uncover gaps and opportunities in the wireless market.
TREND INSPIRATION
Consumer electronics are shifting from stand-alone objects to integrated experiences, blending into everyday environments. I drew inspiration from home interior and furniture design.
INVISIBLE TECH - Technology is blending into its environment, drawing from interior design.
ELEVATED UTILITY - Functional details designed to solve friction points, such as cord management.
PROTOTYPING
THE USER EXPERIENCE
I conducted extensive usability studies on how the stand attaches and detaches from the charging puck to create versatile use.
